Classic In-ground Concrete Kidney Shaped Swimming Pool

A Swimming Pool with Classic Style

This concrete in-ground swimming pool has clean modern lines resembling that of the famous iconic kidney shaped 1950’s swimming pool designed by Thomas Church. It was also the only piece left from the original home that was razed to make way for the new Frank Lloyd Wright like home. We designed and constructed the surrounding gardens and outdoor rooms. This pool like the one found in California has a beautiful scenic view, in this case, of a Minnesota lake. The patio area, pool house and surrounding gardens offer places to relax, entertain, swim, play, garden and BBQ.

If you are considering a swimming pool for your home there are a number of things to know. Studying your site is a very important step, which is often done by preparing what we call a base plan. This plan will provide a tool to help determine where your to position your swimming pool. The base plan is prepared by drawing the actual dimensions of your lot, identifying the exact location of your home, marking existing structures, listing and showing easements & right-of-ways, showing utility lines and other obstructions, including front-, side- and rear-yard setbacks, marking notable landscape features, noting good & bad views, including micro climate notes, showing and understand the topography of your site and taking several photographs.
